Norbert's Bio

Norbert Stovall is a forty year veteran of the Music Business. A visionary working in most every aspect of the business, including Recording, Producing, Manufacturing, Distribution, Publishing, Touring, Management and Video Production. He has 4 RIAA Certified Gold Records and has owned and operated businesses with over 100 Employees. He is the recipient of many awards as a record producer and has a unique ability and understanding of the entertainment industry.

Norbert is a member of the Recording Academy and a voting member of the Grammy’s, a member of CMA, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, NAMM, CES, MIDEM and more. He created, owned, operated and was CEO of Stage 4 Recording, Music Square Productions, Tennessee Production Center, Inc., a full service, state-of-the-art Audio/Video and Manufacturing facility with 104 employees, Chartbuster Karaoke, a worldwide company, Big Mama’s Recording Studios with 6 Studios and 2 Mastering labs, a Karaoke Themed Restaurant which became world renowned for over eleven years, a Traveling Karaoke Interactive Tractor Trailer and three Publishing Companies.

He has produced forty-three Major Artists, recorded over 17,000 songs and over 5000 Custom Recording Sessions were recorded at Big Mama’s. Norbert’s greatest strengths are his creativity, vision, drive and leadership. He thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the company’s reach.

  • 1970 - 1976 - Founded, Built and Operated Stage 4 Recording Studio - Charleston, West Virginia
  • 1978  - Founded and Built Music Square Productions – Demos and projects for Dobie Gray, Louise Mandrell, Troy Seals, Deborah Allen, Janie Fricke and more. Label Demos for MCA Records, ABC Records, United Artists Records, Tree Publishing, Warner Brothers and more.
  • 1976-78 - Recorded the very first Karaoke Track in the United States. Demos for Record Labels and Publishers, Custom Sessions
  • 1979 - Built Big Mama’s Recording Studio in Knoxville, Tennessee - Knoxville's first 24-track studio
  • 1982 - Audio Engineer / Music Director - 450 Episodes of Nashville Network's I-40 Paradise - live recording of Country Music Artists including: Roy Rogers, Tom T. Hall, Reba McEntire, Jerry Clower, Jeanie C. Riley, Jerry Lee Lewis and many more.
  • 1982 - recorded theme song for 1982 World's Fair, recorded soundtrack for Johnny Cash / June Carter Cash World's Fair TV Special; recorded "Eye of the Tiger" Looping with David Keith
  • 1983 - Built Video Production Facilities – Big Mama Video Credits include work for: Rescue 911, Pepsi Commercial with MC Hammer, Smoky Mountain Wrestling (Producer), Dollywood, Budweiser, Entertainment Tonight Special with Mary Hart & Billy Graham, Reading Rainbow, Star Trek The Next Generation and Star Trek CD-ROM game for Spectrum Holobytes with Le Var Burton and many more.
  • 1989 - Norbert and his wife Debi founded by and started Chartbuster Karaoke.  Recorded over 12,
  • 1989 – Present - Various Television and Radio Interviews with WBIR Channel 10 “Live At Five”, Journal Broadcast Group, WVLT, WATE, WIVK, Knox News Sentinel, several Music Industry, Karaoke and Internet Publications

  • 1991 - 1994 - Recorded and Mixed Jingles for Dollywood and Tennessee Dept. of Tourism with Dolly Parton
  • 1995 - Recorded a third RIAA Awarded Project  and produced – The Lettermen
  • 1996 - Produced a "Live" album for T.G Sheppard
  • 1996 - Recorded the Dialogue for the Cherokee Language Version of Disney's “Pocahontas”.
  • 1997 - Major Artist Project “Christmas in the Smokies”
  • 1997 - Built the "Chartbuster Karaoke Experience" a 45’ Touring Tractor Trailer with indoor Recording Studio and outside stage.  The "Experience" was a totally interactive entertainment experience suitable for all ages featuring wall-to-wall memorabilia and an electric atmosphere.  The Chartbuster Experience was booked at Venues and Events like: Country Stampede, Country Thunder, Bristol Motor Speedway, Fan Fair Nashville, BoomsDay, Make-A-Wish Foundation, WSM Radio Nashville, Krogers, University of Tennessee Pep Rallies, numerous WIVK Radio events, Capital Records, University of Tennessee Destination Imagination (for over 10 years), St. Jude, Dr. Pepper Tour, Wal-Mart, Fruit Of The Loom Tour, Pemmican Beef Jerky, George Strait Tour, Rascal Flatts Tour and many more.  Sponsors included: Make-A-Wish Foundation, WIVK Radio,University of Tennessee, Pemmican Beef Jerky, Dr. Pepper, Wal-Mart, and Roland
  • 1997 - Tour - Warner-Avalon’s “Fruit Of The Loom” Country Comfort Tour with Hank Williams, Jr., Charlie Daniels, Travis Tritt and Jo Dee Messina – 60 dates with the Chartbuster Experience
  • 1997 - Introduction of Chartbuster Karaoke CD+G Discs with Scrolling Lyrics
  • 1998 - Created, Built and Operated Big Mama’s Karaoke Café

  • 2007 – 2009 Battle of the Bands outdoor every weekend on Stageline Stage. Over 200 Bands and a ½ hr TV Show
  • 2007 - Recorded and released a SHREK Karaoke CD for Dreamworks
  • 2002 - 2010 - WIVK “Studio 107” Video/Radio Series with Country Music Artists broadcast "live" on the Radio and with a studio audience.  Studio 107 featured: Pam Tillis, Mickey Gilley, Trick Pony, Emerson Drive, Dierks Bentley, Rodney Atkins, Craig Morgan, Mark Chesnutt, Aaron Tippin and Jamie O’Neal.   WIVK also held their annual “Sing Like The King” Contest where we hosted over 39 Elvis Contestants each year, A Dixie Chick Contest with men competing as the best dressed Dixie Chick, and many more Special Events were produced and broadcast from the Karaoke Cafe Venue.
  • 2009 - Oprah Winfrey show comes to the Café for her Karaoke Contest. The Café was featured in her National advertising and TV Spots. All songs in her contest were provided exclusively by Chartbuster Karaoke.
  • 2010 - Rascal Flatts Tour and National Singer Contest with Facebook Voting choosing the Grand Prize Winner.
  • 2011 - Present: Created the concept and began production on the Web-TV Series "Gospel In-Session HD".  The series showcases Independent Gospel Artists and Groups and is featured on gospelinsession.com and other web-based distribution platforms.  To-date the show has produced over 300 videos of over 58 artists.  The show is slated to be the cornerstone of the new MyGMTV.com Gospel Music Television Network, debuting 1st Quarter of 2014.
  • 2013 - Produced and launched our Mobile Marketing Platform offering texting, mobile site / mobile app and a mobile loyalty rewards program for businesses, musicians and labels.
  • 2013 - Produced and launched several custom Pinboard apps including ShowcaseMyMusic.me and ShareMyGospelMusic.com.
  • 2013 - Developed and launched our Digital Distribution Model offering digital download sales, Mobile Music Delivery via Text and other digital media solutions for Indies and Gospel Groups.
